The Philippine Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (PhilChamSG) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2025 on August 21 at the elegant offices of Forvis Mazars on Cecil Street. The evening brought together members, partners, and friends of the Chamber in an atmosphere of camaraderie, engaging discussions, and renewed commitment to the Filipino business community in Singapore.

The event opened with warm fellowship and a sumptuous dinner, where members had the chance to reconnect and network before the official program. The spirit of bayanihan and support for one another was strongly felt throughout the night.

A highlight of the evening was the keynote presentation by Mr. Christoph Burgdorfer, Managing Director of Asteria, who shared timely insights on artificial intelligence and the future of work and business. His engaging talk gave members a deeper understanding of how AI is shaping industries worldwide, inspiring the community to explore opportunities for innovation and growth.

The AGM also served as the platform for the election of new officers, conducted smoothly and successfully under the leadership of Ms. Ninalyn Cacananta and the election committee. PhilChamSG proudly congratulates its newly elected leaders:

  • Margarita “Tats” Locsin – President

  • Djamila Burgos – Secretary

  • Maria Edlyn dela Cruz – Assistant Secretary

  • Joey Peciller – Assistant Secretary

Their election marks an exciting new chapter for PhilChamSG, as the Chamber continues to strengthen its role in connecting, empowering, and representing Filipino professionals and entrepreneurs in Singapore.

Special thanks were extended to Forvis Mazars for graciously hosting the event, ensuring a conducive and welcoming venue for the evening. PhilChamSG also expresses its heartfelt gratitude to outgoing President Benjamin D. Ong for his dedicated service and leadership. In his remarks, he reminded members that “strength does not come from tradition alone. It comes from our ability to improve, to adapt, and to grow together as an organization.”

Looking ahead, newly elected President Margarita “Tats” Locsin emphasized the importance of shared responsibility, saying: “The Chamber will only be as good as we all make it, so I encourage you all to get involved and step up to the committees and board.”

The evening ended on a high note with a networking session, where members enjoyed meaningful conversations, new connections, and shared laughter over good food.

With renewed energy and new leadership, PhilChamSG looks forward to another year of growth, collaboration, and service to the Filipino business community in Singapore.
